Inevitable?

No prizes for guessing who`s bought another BX today! 1989 GTi manual. Couldn`t resist it and first impressions are aside from a little work it`ll be a very nice car. Formerly owned by Andy (Artic Steel) and now residing at Cavmad Towers.
Going to try and get the boot welded asap, then I may have a bash at the heater control and exhaust and some remedial tidying before I decide which to keep out of the Calibra or the GTi.

As you love both marques, will the chosen one be the one that has the higher resale value or the one which is the most personal fun?

The fun factor I think. The Cally means two doors so it`s a pain getting the kids in and out, no centre rear seat belt means less passengers, being 6 foot 3 I keep hitting my head on the roof, visibility is pretty lame and it has a fondness for fuel. You know what though? I love it. It`s so easy to drive, everything feels like it`s been designed for me (except my height issues of course) and the power is controllable plus it`s a Vauxhall so reliability and parts will never be a problem.
The GTi I`m going to have to drive around a bit to get used to, it doe seem pretty quick to be fair but I`ve not opened it up enough to compare to the Cally.

Yeh but they wants pictures and to be honest want it for spares, first £100 buys it! MOT Until June and runs well just needs love, too good to break

If the Calibra is 8v it'd be close, but a redtop 16v Calibra would destory said BX I'd have thought

Hmm thought the calibra was 150bhp in 16v guise, my mate had a cavalier GSI 2000 and my 16v would blow it away!
