my 16v idles perfectly when its cold. However once its warmed-up it stalls whenever it left to idle. Every *^%* time! If you raise the revs just a little its fine and wont stall.
Where would I look for the problem?

hmm, i think maybe the air flow meter. (black box on top of the air filter). the carbon track may need re-tracking - it wears out over time.
my 16v used to idle lovely when cold, but when warm it idled like a dog (but didn't quite stall).
also take off the idle speed control valve on the inlet manifold and give it a good soaking in WD40. I would also advise ensuring that the ECU is getting correct readings from the water temperature sensor (blue sensor with 2 pin connection screwed into the head by the thermostat). it may think the engine is still cold when it's not, so is not giving the correct fuel/air mixture at idle, in turn causing it to stall.
just a few ideas anyway!
bon chance.

I agree with Rob.
Mine did something very similar, idled perfect when cold, then idled worse as it got hot, only stalled once but came close all the time, new temp sensor for the ecu cured it!
Cheers

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I've had this problem twice....first time it was the TPS needed adjusting as it wasn't clicking on when the throttle returned.
And the second time it needed the fuel mixture richening (if thats a word?)
Both times fixed it straight away. I doubt its the AFM personally, they seem to be quite reliable.

Well what do you know. I started with the cheapest and easiest option of checking a few connections on the above mentioned sensors. Armed with the spay can of contact cleaner I spent a bit of time cleaning and reconnecting the temp sensor, air flow meter and all the other connectors I could find. (all these connectors are new to me. Much more complicated than a 2cv) And now it run and idles immpecably. Many thanks fellas
