Two BX's spotted in scrapyard - Emsworth, Hants

Hi all,

Just thought I'd alert you to two rare(ish) BX's in a scrap yard down here. They looked to be mainly intact, although I only had a brief look at them.

One was a G-plate 16TGS in a metallic mid-blue colour. The other was an early E-plate GTi in silver.

If you do want to pop down for a look yourself, the scrapyard was Harris's in Southbourne. I can furnish you with directions should you require, or they're on Yell.com if you look for car dismantlers in Emsworth.

Saveable or crushed?

They looked like they could be salvageable - they're certainly not crushed yet, and I didn't see any serious accident damage - but it depends on whether the scrappy would let you take them. Either way, both of them were in that sad state where half the interior's loose inside the car, and there are probably bits missing from the engine bay too. I seem to remember one of them having had the windows left open too, so either would need a fair bit of work to save. And then you've got to swing the scrappy into letting you have one!
