Earnshaw - a small Yorkshire firm who devised the Diamond with a diamond wheel configuration, built by the eminent Yorkshirman Batty Rhomboid) and later in years built three experimental Aluminium bodied BX cars at a secret location in Lancashire (later records show this to be an old fish gutting warehouse on the Docks at Fleetwood). Rumours of a car being lost in the docks as it was transported to the refinishing shed by gondola have proved unfounded when in 1992 a team of crack divers scoured the entire docks.

Only one of the experimental Ally bodied BX's is known still to exist - a freak accient on a factory day trip wiping out all trace of the other two and most of the staff, save little Dave the teaboy, who was so traumatised by the events that he has never fully been able to explain what happened. Little Dave who was orphaned and subsequently raised by wild flowers, blosoomed into a strapping 6 foot Lancastrian and went on to have a bit of a thing about BX's.

The ally bodied BX was painted green and fitted out in Hurricaine livery and trim. It is rumoured whenever the car hits 188 MPH a hole opens in the fabric of the drivers seat and sucks them into a different dimension - hence every so often the only Ally bodied BX comes up for sale on eBay - a result of the space time rip means it someimes changes body style or colour....

The DZE was truly a one off, built by Mr Earnshaw himself from a standard 1.7 N/A estate and named after his mistress Zoe the car is fabled to have a massive 250 BHP and yet return over 100 miles to an eggcup of chip oil. Learning from the mistakes with the Ally boddied Hurricaines this car retained its steel / GRP construction, but benefited from velvet plush trim and a water bed in the boot.

Truly a rare machine and one for historical preservation.
