Anyway, matey finished fitting the new tyres then stuffed the Michelin spare in the boot. I asked for it to be re-fitted in the cradle - knowing that I'd dropped the hook off the thread while lowering the cradle in my haste to change the wheel before my job interview... and then had tried to re-thread it back on and got it stuck....
Well, after a half-hearted attempt to un-sieze it while looking in disgust at the grease that came off the thread onto his latex-gloved (!!) hands, he got in a huff and said, "well I can't do anything if it's stuck"... and walked off!!
I started to follow him because I thought he was getting a molegrip or something, but before I could say anything he was through the door and heading past the till into the back room. Of course, being me, I was shocked and rendered speechless, while I got out the card to pay the man at the desk for my tyres and "service". I really thought he could have offered to try and fix it for me. Perhaps I was expecting too much?
I now know where not to go for my tyres again.
Mark.
