hurricane gearbox
it looks like im stuck with the old bus as i can not sell it so i might aswell repair it and use it as its not a bad car its growing on me a bit of a hippy car/tree hugers a bit of me its been to france 3 times with a caravan with no probs anyway i have had close look at the pice of cast that broken of the gearbox o/s drive shaft pice and all it dose is drive a black plastic sleave for the speedo and thats it it dose not connect to any thing eles so i think it will be ok to put it back in ok the speedo will not work but hey if anyone thinks diffrent let me know and i will get second hand gearbox but i have no transport to collect so would have to be local regards gaz

In it's current condition, that box is scrap.

its down and left and a turbo diessel / there is no oil seal just bearings and case and there is a grove next to the bearing case to let oil get to the black plastic sleave to drive the speedo hence oil on the plastic sleave when i removed it thats why there is no oil seal because there is no need as oil passes anyway regards gaz

hi cavmad that will be great if you can do that as i have no transport how far are you from me cos if you want help geting it out its no probs i will help as i dont want to put the old box in just to take the tw*t out again give me a price on getting it to me if i can afford it then fine as im saving for a holiday at the momment and was going to leave the hurricane till after the holiday as im out of work money is tight thanks gaz

Ok, to further the plan, I'll be popping back to visit Chesters finest to lend a hand with the engine swop, if the timing works out, we could do that, then flit over and wham the box in the hurricane??
