Gents, i am getting a knocking noise from under the rhs wheel arch when i go over a bump, and this can be felt on the sterring.
Any ideas as to what the most common prolems are in this area and also what to start looking at changing.
Thanks in advance
Barry

The drop link's are little bars, one end of which is attached to the wishbone, the other end of whcih is attached to the end of the anti-roll bar.
It's worth checking the bottom ball joints too if you can feel it through the steering. Get a long lever and give them a good shove up and down, any movement and they need changing.
Cheers

Agree with both...drop links are a bit of an achillies heel...remove it and feel for play and for the sake of £15 from GSF replace it...if there is still rattle...then probably a bottom ball joint..if you can separate the lower arm then if the lower ball joint is gone it'll be like a cock in a sock...you either need strong arms...alot of determination and a big vice or take it to a garage...

I admit, I'm slightley moist.... Probably cos I've just emptied a bottle of beer over my lap. Bum!
Er, check your bottom ball joints very carefully whilst you're down there mate, I've had a knocking noise from the front of the TD for a couple of months, sounded just like drop links, and I ignored it, cos I really didn't have time to do them, but I was sure it was the drop links.
Well, today I discovered the bottom ball joints were so bad they were on the brink of failing. Guess what I'll be doing in the morning!
Cheers
