Newbie: Introducing myself...

Post by BXOurane »

Hi!

Just a few days ago i found this forum here and after having some registration-troubles (thanks to the webmaster again) i m finally allowed to post here :D

My name is Frederic, i m 25 years old, i am a driving advisor and live in Germany. I have been a BX-passionist for 10 years now. During this time I ve had about 25 BX (most of them i took into pieces...) and at the moment there are 11 that i call my own.

- BX "Ourane" (similar to the BX "Hurricane" in UK) TurboD with aircondition, sunroof and ABS with now 280oookms, 1994 ---> daily use
- BX 19 TZD break Automatic, vert triton, 1991 ----> daily use
- BX 19 TZI break Automatic, white 1990 ---> daily use
- BX GTi Automatic, red, 1991 (for spareparts)
- BX GTi Automatic, brun castor, 1990
- BX 16 Valve, vert triton, 1991
- BX 16 Valbe, black, with leather and aircondition 1988
- BX 16 TRS Automatic serie1, gold 1986
- BX 14 RE, white, 1986 (for spare-parts)
- BX 19 TZD Automatic, black, 1991
- BX 16 Top, blue, 1991, ---> daily use

Furthermore:

- XM 2.1 TD break, white, 1992 (the car of my parents)
- LNA, rosé, 1982
- LNA, blue, 1982
- VW beetle, green, 1974

Me and a firend of mine, we will make a big meeting (together with the german Andre-Citroen-Club) for 25 years of BX in Germany. Perhaps some of you would like to join us there, I will make a new topic for this in the next days. Lots of guys from the french BX-Forum will be there as well and it would be a pleasure to welcome also some UK-BX there!

Well, I hope i will enjoy it here as much as I do in the german and french forums. But for what I have read here already I can say that even the guys that ride on the wrong side of the road have a good taste in cars

Here are some pics of my daily-BX, I hope it will work:

Welcome mate. I've learned a fair bit already in this thread...didn't know they had temp gauges and controllable intermitant delay

Welcome, thats one very nice high spec car, not seen the front headlamp washers before....

Noticed that it appears to have a CX gearnob? & is that a ZX steering wheel?

Thanks for all that "welcome-wishes"!

Well, this green "Ourane" once had been an "ordinairy" TZD Turbo, it had already ABS, sunroof and leather seats (i took them off for another BX). I always liked the "Ourane" model from France and so I went to french scrapyards and took all the missing pieces and added the aircondition from a scraped TRD Turbo.

I put in some more accessoiries such as the temp gauges (from a GTi, VERY useful!), the clock with temperature (from an XM Y3), the headlamp washers (from a swedish BX, it was standard there), heated seats (also standard in sweden), the controllable intermitant delay (from a Peugeot 505, works with "plug and play" :D ), front grille in chrome from a BX "Image" and a second electric door mirror on the drivers side. By the way... if someone wants to get rid of a (UK) driver side electric door mirror, just let me know ;-)

The steering wheel (dont know for which Citroen model it was made) is now replaced by the original black "monobranche" again, it just fits much better into the car. Gearknob was taken by a BX Top (special edition in germany).

Ok, time to go to bed now ;-)

I like the carpet in the tray in front of the clock. Does that make me really, really sad?

Oh and by the way - Image
