I've spotted some slidey controls on the dash, is that aircon??

I'm getting excited (the a/c u understand!!) & i dont even want the blinkin thing. This could be an ace buy, appears to be some rust but even so it the price is right says Brucy......

If anyone is seriously interested in this Silver fox, let me know & i may be able to persuade my Dad to take a look at it, he lives out that way.....

If it is cheap enough, it is worth breaking for the aircon rig should it turn out to be rotten. Don't expect the aircon to be working, though. Condensers have a fairly short life and are quite dear. It is well worth buying a new one because it makes the BX a very much better car.

Q: Hi, does the aircon work? if not do u know what needs doing? any other probs with the car?

A: Hi - never tried using it but probably would need regassing, but don't know. There's no radio/cassette/cd player; the electric window switches are a bit sticky sometimes but as far as problems, the car passed its MOT 7 days ago with no hassle (fitted new front brake pads 2 day before the MOT and a new fuel gauge sender unit last summer). Not trying to be funny but it maybe true, air con has never appealed to me either, i've had two cars here in the last two years with a/c, never bothered with either, what's the big deal with it anyway?

I have a/c in my company car and when i turn it on I loose 4mpg.

Aircon isnt designed not to be used, it actually can cause problems if you dont use it. Reason for using, er so that you can have a nice cool drive without any windows being open & having to listen to the noise drowning out even your thoughts if u r bombing along??

Each to their own i guess, & yes it does use power & hence fuel, didnt think it would use 4mpg though Tim, however if its a company car, i guess u r not bothered anyway ':)'

Air con lopped 3 mpg off my GTi easy. But worth it during those hot summer days.

Which is a shame, as it was a seperated-at-birth sibling of my white DTR turbo. Only difference is the A/C. I was going to have a bid on it too, as I seem to be rather short of MOT'd vehicles at the moment.
