F***ING HELL!

Post by tim leech »

Anyone any good at welding? Well you can imagine how I feel today as my bodywise lovely 16v is actually rather rotten! Ok I did give it a bit of a prod with a screwdriver but I didnt expect that! I took the wing off to have try and sort the crease out on the edge of the drivers door! Wish I hadnt bothered now!

And it passed its MOT 3 months and 50 miles ago! Mind you with the wing and wheel archliner in place u cant see it, fortunatly the inner wing itself is sound but thats even more money to spend so the Athenas gonna have to go.

That's actually quite a nice easy bit of welding there. Easy access and flat panel. Plus it's hidden from view, so need only be strong, not pretty.

I'll swap you that rot for the TZD's rot any day of the week!

Even if you can't do it yourself, or know anyone who can do it, it will be cheap to get a garage to do it, especially if you take off and refit the wing yourself.

I'd offer to do it, but I doubt you want to drive about 300 miles round trip to do it. The petrol would cost more than getting it done locally!

Eeek well theres alot more than we thought, boot floor/rear panel is holed, both inner wings are like swiss cheese, and the the subframe aswell, is it worth it?

It is worth it as once it is done properly you should get another good few years out off it yet.

Just remember tim I have offered to help with welding if you need it.

Thanks matey, do appreciate it, but as its in bits they may aswell carry on. Looking at it I would be a bit unwilling to drive it too far until its fixed as its not roadworthy right now!
