Good god, where are they all coming from??
Another one with a dodgy rear height corrector, and the rear bumper looks pretty bad, but repairable.
Anybody know where Wisbech is? I might have a dabble on it!

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Wisbech rocks!
Sorry Stuart, get a copy of practical classics or such like and a BX16v is in the price guide, bearing in mind that they are 20 year sold this year which is normally the rule they use.
Wisbech is Cambridgeshire isnt it?

True, the 16V's are starting to appear in price guides.
Don't get me wrong, I love BXs, but I just doubt that anyone outside of our little club would see them as a classic!
Saloons always take longer than sports cars to be accepted as classics... The GS is still borderline, so I reckon the BX needs another 10-20 years.

Ta Dean, I'll let it pass then, a bit too far for me right now.Barnsley BXer wrote: About 1/2 way between Peterbrough and King's Lynn
I agree with Stuart, BX's are not in any way shape or form a true "classic" yet. For sure theres plenty of nutters around that like them (us for example), but in the world at large they are seen as either very cheap motoring till it breaks, or an old banger.
I reckon another 10 yearas at least before the population at large say "oh yeah BX's, I remember them" by which time the numbers of BX's at large will be minimal..

as the 80s revival continues with the music, fashion and design being re-evaluated why not the motors too? I know the design is 70s really but to me it is classic design already. I casually collect 80s hi-fi and it might sound strange to some but there are similarities between the BX and early CD players! Philips 101 etc. Beginning of the digital revolution. The future is now! ( why does everyone in the future wear silver??)

It's cos of the evil motor car causing global warming and therefore meaning that even in mid december without the space age life saving silver reflective suit we'd all get skin cancer as soon as we walked out the front door!toddao wrote: ( why does everyone in the future wear silver??)

Only on fridays and saturdays matey!!
The evil motor car indeed......
Anyone read the Stern report? Carefully?
I dont buy this "car is responsible for global warming" diatribe being proffered by the governments of the world at all.
Stroud is very lovely Todd, alas I live in Bristol
, but spend most of my time up in Stroud, if you're ever in this neck of the woods (well britain like!) give us a nod, would be good to meet up with an international BXer!!
Cheers
Chris G

Chris, it is quite likely I shall be in the area this summer. Was in Stroud last year with the old Merc. but with a top speed of 90kmh ( on the flat, hills are walking pace) it's a long way from here. At least the fridge in the back is full of cold Fürstenberg ( local beer).
Want to make in over in July for the rally and meet the faces behind the avatars! And rattle on about BX's..
Cheers!

I wouldn`t be, the engine must be worth a few quid to a 205`er?stuart_hedges wrote:eBay seller wrote:Sorry to break it you guys...
Back o/t before the thought policeman catches me I reckon the BX is a classic but we probably all sing from the same hymn sheet on that one. Prices are gradually on the up now and I`ve noticed the `used to have one of those, great cars` brigade taking an interest now.
Vauxhall apologist.

I would imagine it'll be 205'd, that one. Description is pants and the rear bumper is an eyesore. Dunno where he got 158bhp from either
As far as a classic goes.....not yet I'd say. The 16v might be in the price guides, but it just isn't a classic yet. The 309GTi was in a guide I saw recently, and they're not classics.
I'd say retro/modern classic/cheese wedge.
