Low mileage question

Post by Philip Chidlow »

Purely out of interest, who has very low miles on their BX? My recently acquired 16TGS has - as of today - 26,355. I'm sure that's pretty low for a 1990 BX but it wouldn't surprise me if there were one or two out there showing lower than that. I remember a 15k GTi (which I saw - and it wasn't quite as neat as my TGS 8) :D ) and an 18k Gti (I think) that were for sale in the not too distant past...

Why on earth does it have two speedo's?

Is one for speed and the other to show how fast it's rusting??

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I have a '88 F plate 16v that is on 56,800 miles and only know of one other confirmed still existing 16v with less miles on of ~50,000.

Still waiting for a 16v with your TGS kind of mileage, there's got to be an elderly owner with one stashed away somewhere.

Hi Mike P - your profile's a tad wrong: 1998 F Bx GTi 16v - 56k miles, love it.

If it was 1998 - it would have been stashed away a long time !

Guess 175k Kms or 110,000 miles on 1991 BX19TRS dont qualify? As for rust only a spot or two of surface rust 8)

Slightly off topic but the 1989 Korean Pontiac/Astra I purchased 4 years ago has 150,000 kms (93,000 miles) now but when I brought it only had 88,000kms (55,000 miles).

Missed out on a 1990 16TGS with 112,000 kms (70,000 miles) on Trademe.

Sort of in the middle with the Hooligan, its showing 65k mind you it matters less on diesels, my Xantia has 182k and the old ZX Volcane TD is over 170k and both cars run like swiss watches :)

The auto I recently sold had 39,700 (or therabouts) on it but my TZD estate has 195,000.
