BX 4WD Break?

Post by toddao »

Is this for real? Never seen one of these. No information about the car. Seller has low rating too. maybe just stuck some badges on it? (nice close up photo of the towbar though!)

They did exist - I've got a Citroen sales brochure that lists them - but I don't think Citroen ever built many of them.

As covered in a thread from a few months back, my local Citroen breakers had a 1991 white 4x4 estate going for £150. Wasn't in bad nick. Needed one bit of welding and a small LHM leak dealing with/ What put me off was that it needed a new exhaust... (and could I find/afford one?!?) - everything else seemed fine, and it had been running well up to the MOT fail (failed on weld, LHM leak plus exhaust - advisory on tyres).

Apparently it was sold... Wonder who to?

I can ask what happened to it as a matter of interest.

Hello todd,
the linked ebay car looks original except its dark colored windows. :)
The description was very poor, just a note that the engine was damaged --> very low price.

Yes, BX 19 (Break) 4WD/4x4 was available from late 1989 to 1992 or 1993. 4WD Break was sold with PSA 1.9l singlepoint injection engine (80kW), Berline 4WD with GTI multipoint engine only.
The 19D engine was available (for both bodys) in France only.

Best regards from Austria
»Horst

PS: If anyone is interested our BX Break 4WD will be sold: http://tinyurl.com/2f6gb6 :)

Servus Horst!

welcome to the club. I'm not that far from you - just the other end of Bodensee. I listen to the Austrian radio station FM4 as they play very good music. Link is a bit confusing to your pictures but the car looks good. Also your new project BX sounds interesting.
Cheers!

Hi Todd,
thanks for warm welcome. :)

Oh, Bodensee "deep behind" is not more than 600km from here - but definitely not so far than the great island. :)
I prefer 'alternative' music too, when I was a teenager (in the 80ties) we could call it 'independend' music. My son (14) is studying my old casette collection (~350 pieces) now...

@our BX Break 4WD:
Doesn't the link work properly? That's the original one:
http://megasquirt-de.serviceline.ch/suc ... ak_4WD.htm I guess THIS is confusing. ;)

@our new BX14 Break project:
When the new BX is running with '14 power' I'd like to convert to MPI and multi fuel injection (E85). 'All' I need are injectors which are able to resist Ethanol, also some minor special parts like fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator. When we scrapped a BX14 Berline some weeks ago I grabbed the fuel tank if it can't withstand alcohole for a long time (brittle?). I guess fuel line purchasing should be no problem today.
Controller for injection and ignition will be MegaSquirt (as I have enough experience from Ami8i project).
