GTi and 16v ones are also the same mate. Infact normal BX ones are the same, its the ABS ring on the outer joint, so unless your outers are duff you could switch em over?

Only the GTI/16v and TD ones will do, they are the "high strength" versions, others might well fit but..............

i think that the outers may be duff (clonking on full lock & under acceleration )
i think that replacing them would be the best thing

Didn't know they were different strengths.....my 16v is running with some standard ones with the 16v outer CV joint. Done a few 1/4 miles with it on too, and no problems.
But then my car breaks everytime theres a Thursday in the week, so who knows what'll happen next
