Right err ok does anyone know how the metal ring that protrudes slighty out of the filler on a bx is fixed on please, is the metal ring with two cut outs for the flap/lock to fit into when you lock it.
My TGS has this part missing and I cant figure out how they go on,as the 3 screws seem to hold the filler next to the body of car?
The flap itself and locking mechanism is fine but theres mothing for it to grip onto and of course it will fail its MOT on this tomorrow.

When you remove the three screws the whole unit pushes back into the car, so from underneath you just unclip it where it joins the filler neck, and well, remove it!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!
Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

I had that problem at about this time last year. I made the flap stay put with some blue tack. Until Vanny came through with the correct part. I did go to my local Citroën dealer and spoke at length with a few chaps in there about my bx, but when it came to the part lets just say "tea chocolate pot", arrange them in a suitable order. I think there must be several parts, for guys who have 16v, diesel and petrol. As the length of the one I got from citroen was too short to connect to the pipe from the tank. Like I said got mine from Vanny for a few beer tokens. Only took about 15min to sort out, but the first thing I did was wash the underside of bodywork to get rid of some of the build up of crud, then put a bit of polish on, and then fit new pipe.
