Does anyone have an old but working laptop they would like to sell/part with.

Friend of mine really needs one. Please!

I've got one Ken. Its of the 'tough' variety, bit brick like but quite good spec. USB port is quite tempremental but all works fine apart from that. Only thing is no charger. Although many available on e-bay.

Ken, a mate has a Dell laptop for sale but it's low spec and the battery is crap (and by crap I mean useless). It would be dirt cheap though, well under the ton.

i'm after a laptop on the very cheap if anyone has one, ideally something with a smashed screen as i don't need the screen or infact most bits!

But thats about all, never really got the point of a laptop. Well, not in that sense anyway

ive got the mains adapter off my old laptop, they stole the laptop but forgot the charger

What i need is the motherboard, memory, CPU, CD drive and ideally but not vital the HD. Something in the 1gz or more range and with USB and if possible a serial port!

Vanny - what exactly are you after, 1gz does not compute, do you mean >=1ghz cpu ?. I dabble in laptops and can probably help you with something, particularly if you want to use an external CRT. Although maybe not if you want a fastish P111 cpu.

i was of course refering to the CPU speed of around 1ghz (i guess ideally Athlon for my purposes), appologiese for the confusion, the batteries are going on the keyboard and its starting to make mistakes!

It will run on an external monitor and probably a touch screen so things like a mouse pad and keyboard are also not needed.

I have a selection of IBM T20s . They are 700 or 800mhz Pentium 111 machines.
I dont have any hard disks at the moment and I think I am out of power supplies too. They use 16v with a 5mm diameter (approx) circular jack.

I would be able to source a disk, power supply and load Widows of your choice. If you just want the base unit I could take the screen and lid off.
Price would depend on the final spec. I would do everything at cost to me.
Note that a complete one goes for over £100.
Payment could be in BX parts. I have a long shopping list at the moment.
