This seems like an appropriate place to put in a photo of yours truly testing out the rare third row of seats option!

Thanks for the appreciation.. I think they look alright too - plunges the ole girl back deep into the 1980s where she belongs. There is still a possibility that the centre caps will be found as the 'barn of parts' where these came from is still yielding a few items. He calls me up when he finds some more stuff and I asked him last week to look out for these particular centre caps. It's a big barn with a lot of stuff secreted..

That picture is us on the way to the lake during last summer's mad heatwave. The cool bag on the right contains much 'liquid refreshment' but I think that big kid on the left probably would benefit from a proper seat. I think he drove us actually!

I did sit in the kiddie seat on the way, but yes, had to drive everyone back after the 'liquid refreshment' had been consumed. It drove really nicely after I had stopped reaching in the door pocket for the gear lever!

It drove even better once I'd had the tracking sorted out!

Sorry, I didn't quite get it at first but you mean ICCR of course! Yes, would be nice. What sort of Triumph was that? A 'Gloria' is about the only old one that I know of.

We are doing a short tour next week to Switzerland to meet some weirdos who are driving their BXs around the Continent ( any excuse for a piss up) just hope they don't bang on about windscreen wipers all the time!

Gloria Tourer - open/soft top version - which was rebuilt/renovated after Dad found it in a field in 1969 and paid 6 shillings for it or something. It was the cover girl on a classic car magazine in ?1988/9 - I know I have a copy of that issue buried in paperwork somewhere, will have to scan it in and show :) . No longer in the family, was "upgraded" to a 1929 Alvis in the early '90s, hope it's still on the road sometimes, somewhere - on SORN last time I looked, but it was winter!

Point really was that the trip went well because parents took it in easy stages - maybe 4 hours driving a day, couple hours at a time with loooong lunch breaks where we did something else. The high back seat of the Gloria means that it's windy and noisy, so potential for entertainment along the lines of in-car sing-songs or I-spy/word/count-red-car games was rather limited ... bet you'd get away with longer stretches in the BX, especially if the tots are good in-car sleepers. I'd see if you could leave the one on the left behind though, he looks like he'd be hard work

Whose that then? - perhaps look on that as a test run?

Hang on, why am I laughing?

My excuse is that I had just spilt my drink down my trousers, so taking them off, or at least putting them round my ankles was the most comfortable (and at the time the most logical) thing to do...

Long time no post in the Gallery. Worth resurrecting this thread just to see Mat in his pants! Anyway, here's the old barge up in the hills this morning when I went to fly and crash my model plane.

Hello all, I'm still BXing in the free world. Just got the yella fella through the TÜV test - two more years of BXquisite then eligible for 'historic status' as will be 30. But need one more seat now as the family expands so I'm racing to get my '88 7 seater Renault 21 Nevada on the road for the first time since 2001. Pic shows R21 subframe unloaded from 19RD after going to scrapyard to use ten ton press for new bearings.
I enjoyed looking through all the posts and great to see so many BXs going on and on
