Needs love but is definatly saveable, plus white panels seems easy enough to get hold of. Oddly enough the seller of this car has just outbod me on the 14 Preview!

Quite saveable and only big worry could be the coolant needing topping up, though I suppose it could be a leak.
No reserve either so potential cheapy for someone.

I like the idea of a diesel auto in a BX. This one would be very very slow because its got the earlier XUD with a few less BHP. A friend of mine called me one day and asked how to bump start a BX as he was trying to buy one (not an enthusiast, just wanted a car), and he turned up in it a while later. It was a white estate with this early engine. My later type NA XUD felt like an absolute rocket after having a go driving my mates. Coupled with the auto box, you'd just have to stick radio 3 on and start relaxing/dealing with road rage in different ways etc.

1.9D autos actually can be quite nippy as the torque converter makes the most of the low down power. I had one for a bit and it went very well!

Still a bit pedestrian I'm sure but you don't buy a BX diesel to set the world alight with acceleration and top speed do you? Wouldn't bother me driving a diesel automatic.

There is no low down power in a N'A derv

You want low down power you get a TD auto, or a GTi.

The torque converter / epicyclic saps about 20% of the horses untill the lockup comes into play in third and top.

N/A auto's are fine for relaxed driving, but so bland they make watching paint dry an enjoyable pasttime...

Trust me mate, 19N/A lumps dont have a power curve.
All the grunt at the bottom end is pure torque.

I'm not a speed demon
I just like a car to be a rocket!
I usually drive round at 28mph, I just like making stuff go fast when it wasn't designed to.
When I've got the TD running 160bhp reliably I might sell the valver (after I've welded it up like  )

It aint about the speed, it's about knowing I can do it. Egoist see.....
