Both have the potential to be cheap runners for someone.
And another BX estate on the bay (same seller).

Yep, these are my cars. I've concluded it would take me more than an afternoon to do the gearbox swapping...
And my wife agrees with me that rebuilding our lounge (i.e. putting a floor back down again before winter !) takes priority over rebuilding these BX's! The excuse for getting the BX's in the first place was that they'd help with the general transportation of rubble, planks etc for the DIY project.
So this pair of honset, rough & ready estates just need a bit of TLC (just like all the others!). Whats particularly galling is that I replaced the rear spheres and accumulator sphere (Westroen spheres) on the grey estate about 100 miles before its gearbox disintegrated.
I still have the red BX16TXi saloon which should find its way to the CCC meeting this coming Sunday. And I have a GS van which is still awaiting my time and attention to rebuild/replace its engine.
