Hi spotted this on ebay check out the pictures, there is a lot of rust and oxidation on the aloy for 87000 miles i have asked the seller if it has had a replacement engine or if it has been stored. The last time i had seen an engine that looked like this it was in a scrappers. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXCELLENT-CITROEN ... dZViewItem
Saying that though if anyone is interested I can have a look at it for you I live in Lincoln.
Mmm see what you mean, quite a lot of rust on the rad bracket. Dont think I'll be rushing to press the buy it now button with that dent in the bonnet and the heavy steering.
Certainly took a lot of pictures though, I haven't got that many of my own car.
Ignore my last post, I've just spotted the small print stating "PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR A FULL PICTURE TOUR OF THIS EXCELLENT LOW MILEAGE CITROEN CLASSIC."

It's got to be a replacement engine from an older car.
The car is K-reg (92/3) but the air filter is the old round type, which went out with the 1986/7 models. These "round-filter" models had no black airbox on the cam-cover either - and there's no sign of it on this car. TGDs were sold from 1989 only.
On the other hand, I ran a 1989 petrol BX with a replacement engine from a 1984 car for several years....
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.
My Cars: 2003- Passe-Partout 1.9 TGD estate 2005 Grolliffe Tizzydee turbo estate and sundry other BXs and Grace, a CX TRD. 2008 to 2023 - all sorts of stuff, some interesting 2024. TxD 1.9D estate. 'Wheelybin'. Much worse than expected. Scrapped. 2025 Grogan. 1.9 TD Evasion Image Break. LHD.

I do. It is entirely possible to have thirteen month's MOT.
It`s because if you go for an MOT within one month of the old one still remaining you get 13 Month`s test if it passes again.
My old 1.7 n/a diesel (circa 90/91) had a round air filter by the way. I know this because halford`s tried to tell me it wasn`t and I had to show them the car to prove it had.
"Oh yeah", came their helpful response, "it must have ben a one off or the wronf fliter someone`s fitted". Until, of course, I found said filter myself on their shelf clearly labelled as the one for my car
I have magazines etc from 1989 showing both 1.7 and 1.9 non-turbo's listed. I beleive a 1.7 estate was made but not sold here. The analogue clock was used on inferior vehicles like 1.7's that didn't get a rev counter. 1.7's may not have power steering.
There are numerous minor trim changes according to model type. Things like sunshine roofs, sports or non-sports seats, split rear backrests, fluffier rear shelves in grey, rear electric windows, instruements etc - all on what is fundamentally the same car.
