RETRO-RIDES Weekend

Post by nstarmore »

Not sure if this is a repeat post but is anyone on here going at all, would be nice to see some BX's there. I'm leaving about midday today in the Xantia (booo, I know) to do an all weekend, just wanted to see if its worth looking out for anyone?

Sorry I didn't replay, got a bit rushed off my feet before I went (I wasn't very organised). It was at mallory park in leicestershire. Just got back about an hour ago, was an awsome weekend with plenty of retro cars and some sprinting, which was worth it alone to see a ferrari lose it on track (was the only 'obvious' car there, all the rest was modified classics) but annoyingly for me I was the only one with a citroen other than the few 2cv's there. The only BX I saw was a lovely red 16v at a used car dealer in usk on the way, mucho disapointment but still a top weekend!

Perhaps there will be more club representation for RR08??

Seen a lot of the pictures from the show and gutted I didn't go. Some real quality cars on show and a blinding mix of all kinds of different motors.

Yeh it was an awesome show, like it was said, there was an amazing variety of different motors and the sprint action was awesome and the whole event was totally laid back (apart from when some people got a bit carried away with doing donuts on the camping field and got a talking down to from security), you could of brought anything on the track as well, in all honesty if my brakes weren't knackered I could and would've taken the xantia on track. Anyway enough of rubbing it in, I just wanted to make sure that everyone goes next year haha.

Oh yeh and here's a pic of me (on the grifter) and my mate (on the chopper) with a 2000bhp Vauxhall Victor in the background just because I thought it was a cool photo!

Keep seeing that Victor on different websites, is that the one they call the 'old nail'?
Stunning that is, I love it.

not sure of the name of it but from what the commentator was saying it's known all over the world in pro-street circles, all I know is it ruddy loud and ruddy fast and makes a hell of a lot of smoke!!

Ah, I think it's called Red Victor One or something like that. I'll have to get to a Retro-Rides show one day, the cars the people own on that forum are out of this world.
