Just what I was thinking Dave. Ken, for some reason I seem to recall being told all 'M' reg BX's were only TZD estates but I might have got that wrong?

Shame it's so far away :(

Is handbrake cable a difficult job on a BX?

Thats what I understood as well Billy. The reason was that the Xantia estates were late in coming along - as were the ZX's as well and BX Estates which wee built by a different company anyway were assembled from what ever was left over - hence the rumour of a few 1.9TD's (as the 1.7 TD engine was discontinued around then)

I think a genuine late one will have a steel bonnet.

Will be a diesel estate most probably a 19TXD.

Right just to clarify this up, I called the seller yesterday as it was local to me and seemed like a very tempting buy and after a very confused stutter after the question 'is it a TXD estate then?' he informed me that it is in fact and ax not a bx, which is a shame and left me a little bit gutted to be honest...it looks like the advert has been pulled now anyway.

The search continues...

He was way up in the valleys and that kind of dullness generally goes with the territory up there unfortunately. As the saying goes if it sounds too good to be true it usually is

I could believe that if it was a Xantia. A car so anonymous you probably wouldn't even know you were driving it-until it broke down again of course :D
