White H reg TRD estate in Vire, Normandy

Post by paulwitchard »

Whilst out and about this pm we spotted an H reg TRD estate in the car park of BricoMarche in Vire. Had a current tax disc but also french insurance so not sure if it was in the process of being re registered here or was just an 'illegal immigrant'.

Were there many TRD's - I thought I read somewhere that CX TRD's were very rare and were soon rebadged TZD - but it may be the local apple juice kicking in.

Have had J249TTG (TZD Break) re registered here with WZ plate so its now officially wizzy!

Saw a hi top ex ambulance break behind a garage in Campeaux between Torigni sur Vire and Vire yesterday - might make interesting camping car!

A TRD must have started off as a French or Mainland Europe car - this model designation wasn't used in the UK as it was deemed to be too much like TURD, so all UK cars of this model were DTRs.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

2005 Grolliffe Tizzydee turbo estate and sundry other BXs and Grace, a CX TRD.
2008 to 2023 - all sorts of stuff, some interesting
2024. TxD 1.9D estate. 'Wheelybin'. Much worse than expected. Scrapped.
2025 Grogan. 1.9 TD Evasion Image Break. LHD.

AH! I've been waiting for you to turn up! I'm sure that I saw you driving through Ernee one day last summer. Metallic Grey?

No - Triton green - we don't get round Ernee much, last autumn it would have been in a 4L - hope we can use that phrase here!
