Is this the same one that was advertised with no MOT and a broken rear screen a couple of months ago? Looks very much like it!
Low mileage Manchester Meteor!

Sounds like a bit of a knob to me, 2 feedback and on 2 of the items he says bid 50p or a pound and you will not win, well not being funny but if you don't set a reserve then thats how it works, tit! Does seem like a decent car though and to go against all the (uneccasary) xantia bashing I actually quite like those trims.cavmad wrote:"No bids of 50p or £1.00". No shit Sherlock, it'd be a bit hard when the opening price is £150 wouldn't it?

Someone (on another forum) was telling me he placed a relatively low bid on a no reserve car on eay to chance his arm as it were. Within an hour the seller sent him a stinging e-mail asking him why he only bid such a low amount
-blah-blah and launched into a quite vicious personal attack!
Where do these people come from? They're hardly attracting bidders with their strangely worded listings are they?

Remember the Red TZD up in Manchester I won for £265? He phoned me the evening before the morning I was supposed to pick it up and said that it had developed a water pump leak and lost all its coolant and wasn't driveable. Two days later it was back on the bay saying non paying bidder and all that bollocks and it went for £525. That was just some old guy too, couldn't exactly go raging round to his house. Most people see ebay and ebayers in general as faceless, and therefore apply no courtesy or respect to them. Wrong really, but what can you do?
Passed this to stu hedges to see if he fancies a pop at it to replace his.

Its still on £150 though mate.... Doesn't look like it'll even get a bid.
It's an oppurtunity to stick with what you know and what you were happy with, and don't forget its got a full 12 months ticket. For £150 thats a bloody steal mate. The MOT is worth that alone, regardless of the car around it. That's not even concidering the low mileage and the condition. If I didn't have 3 already I'd be bidding now mate.
Your insurance shouldn't change, so your only real outlay would be the tax, which is a month by month cost anyway for any car. I take it you've claimed back the tax on your old one already?
Surely you could beg, borrow or steal £150 together until your claim comes through? I'd almost guarantee that that's the reserve, and if not you're there for a second chance offer from the seller anyway. Most people do use it these days if something doesn't sell...
G'wan my son, take a punt at it
