DKZ engine rev limiter

Post by AlanS »

Took my eldest son for a run in his young brothers TZi today.
This is the one who does engine management systems as part of his business, so is quite competant about all the why's and wherefores with them and as we are coming back down the road, he asks what the rev limiter is set at on the 8 valve version. I didn't know it had one (although it's logical that it could have) as I've never heard anyone mention them before.
16Vs are factory set at 7200 as we all know, so for the information of anyone who may have a BX with the DKZ engine, it is set at 6800 which this car now hits with ease.

Hi Alan,

The official documentation states that DKZ engines are limited at 6800rpm.
I wouldn't know though, never tried it and don't intend to.
