High idle speed

Post by fourwheelsteer »

I've got a BX 1.9 petrol automatic which even once it has warmed up idles at about 1500-2000rpm. The carb has been rebuilt earlier this year following a spate of poor running caused by 19 years build up of rubbish in the carb. As far as I can tell the auto choke is working correctly and the throttle cable is adjusted correctly. Is there any way to adjust the tickover speed to something more sensible?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Check out this document which should tell you how to adjust the idle speed and what the factory spec speed should be for your model.
