side lights and alarm

Just fitted some new sidelight bulbs. Whenever I turn them on, the alarm sounds. Shouldn't they turn on (without the alarm) when you turn the indicator on without the key in?

How can I stop this?

Are you talking about the 1-2 1-2 1-2 alarm that sounds with the lights on and a door open with no ignition on ?

Is there perhaps a faulty wiring set-up that makes the alarm sound when it shouldn't?

Nope this is normal. The alarm goes to warn you that the lights are still on when you open the door.
