How is the new, new Beetle selling? Not seen any on the roads yet! Does look much better than the last new Beetle. Is it still built by our Sombrero wearing friends?

Sales ars slow, its only availble as one model with a petrol engine starting at £19k, once the cheaper basic models and diesels are out it should do ok. Still made in mexico!

The V10 diesel sounds like a good idea to me though! It may be thirsty for a diesel, but I bet it shifts - just imagine the torque...

Its hialrious! but no cheaper to run than the V8 petrol they made for a short while, also the engine weighs so much it kinda ruins the handling!,

I think we sold one.

Definitely Autoglym Shampoo, Polish and then Extra Gloss Protection. Been at this for 60 years - beats the rest hands down.

Showed photos of the rust to the local bodyman, says he can sort it so just waiting on him so I can get it too him, its about 4 miles from where shes stored....

Fecking Xantias! I told him he should have bought a turbo D but no! The thing STILL isnt running right......Pulled up at the GCCG meeting last night (after spend £122 on 6 months rent!), it coughed a bit when cold but I put that down to it being dormant for 6 months then sat at 75-80 to Coventry no problem, I pulled into the car park at half 7 next to Jon and his BXTGD, upon where it coughed then stalled and when it retarted it was lumpy and misfiring.....a bit of 6000rpm made it sound worse, so much I thoughth I had broken something, and then it cleared and ran fine on the way home but is still rather flat and hesitant.....or that just could be me?

Cars....I need a new hobby!

Oh dear. Some cars just don't want to keep going :( Put it out to pasture, Tim. Let is go peacefully in its sleep... and get the tax back.... sounds harsh but it seems to make sense to me. But then again not a lot of what we do is common sense is it? A difficult one.

Your right Phil, but it drives well, is quiet, refined, looks a million dollars (for a Xantia), I will stick some injector cleaner through it, and see if that helps, if not I will put it in a lock up with a sheet over it until I can stand to spend money on it again.

Tim, just try taking it for a nice long drive, perhaps to the seaside. Put on your favourite tunes, shades and chill. :)

As you know if it was any other Xantia I would just bin it, but its part of the family, and Ive known it since "birth" so even if I have to park it up and just look at it I could never scrap it.

The only other option is to buy a scrapper and swop bits over...
