Another BX17 TZD Turbo in Graphite grey:

blimey, it's on the Isle of Anglesey!

And another turbodiesel, this time in Hungerford. Failed MOT on "welding"... wonder what that means:

Cheers, I think the first one is within reasonable travelling distance of me and I like the look of it. Have started the bidding and will be keeping a close eye on it but if the price goes silly I`ll be backing off.

The second, on close inspection of the picture, appears to be showing ome corrosion on the front of the o/s/r door and perhaps other places. Potential cheapy for someone?

I think the one in Hungerford might be a TXD - can anyone tell?

I'm sure the Anglesey one has been listed before in the last couple of weeks seem to remember the number. Thought it was down south though.

The hungerford one is a DTR isn't it? forerunner of the TZD nicer seats. :)
They think it's all over, it is now!

I`m also convinced the seller`s had quite a few motors on eBay Maybe he got it cheap without MOT and is after making a few quid on it? Doesn`t bother me if he has though if the price is right.

I am NOT bidding on this now.

the one on anglesey had been on ebay before. It was a total failure and had boiled the head to bits. Its had a New Xantia turbo head and turbo fitted and a number of new parts as stated....

The DTR is the fore runner to the TZD, but it looks like its had a spoiler fitted as they were not fitted to the DTR as standard, they were an option though I think. In my opinion though the TZD seats are much better then DTR seats.. as the TZD's are the GTi's seats..

My 1987 BX DTR had a GTI interior and the hoop spoiler, I think they were standard.

Hi cavmad!!

Ohh bugger been sussed out.... Yes its my car on Ebay ... Car going for MOT Friday, so I dont reckon I will MOT it i WILL MOT it before end of auction....

I know a little about BX's, having 2 GTi's, (One grey with leather and not working air con 1990 G reg), A stonking block TZD Turbo I really enjoyed, a 19TGD on a J, a 16TZS on a H, um, worked on a few too, even helped Vanny repair his rear arm bearings on his Cream model BX, I then moved to Xantias, and now settled with XM's at the moment..

The BX was bought as I said previosly, totalled, so I put a Xantia turbo head on it and a turbo (from a P reg 1997 engine), a rad, spheres on the rear, freed up the sicky rear height corrector linkage, and fitted a passenger ball joint.. I beleve the milage, as the car will stay UP after being stopped all day, front and rear, I aint seen a BX do this for a long time...

Anyway, I do think you should have it Cavmad anyway..

But obviously I want a sensible price, NOT A SILLY price..

See you around

Sorry nope, just the ole 1769, the turbo was a straight swap. I did the head first, went down the road then weeeeeeee, the turbo went.. so managed to change it without removing the head again... lots of swearing too but its done...

Shouldn't get silly, (i'm not greedy) I'll be happy with anything around the 250 mark... so theres a clue, its not that its crap or anything, it just needs to go as hopefully a P Reg Xantia TD is on its way...

"Car going for MOT Friday, so I dont reckon I will MOT it i WILL MOT it before end of auction.... "

Sorry.... Didn't know you were one of the 'in' crowd! At £250 with a new ticket, I'll have to restrain myself not to buy it if Cavmad doesn't. The logistics of getting to Anglesey to collect it might give me a migraine, mind, but I reckon it's worth it.

I sold my 88DTR Turbo with 136k for £250 nearly 5 years ago - just after spending out on new front wishbone bushes, rear arm bearing, and changing the head gasket. I share your pain - I wouldn't fancy changing the turbo in-situ though!
I NEED a BX TD.

RichardW,

Also replied to you "Reckon he will get an mot" part in your other thread....

Never mind, I understand some people say one thing and dont do it...

I wont change a Turbo in situ either again, head ALWAYS off first, but I did not intend taking the head off again to change the Turbo so went and did it... JUST..

If I don`t make the offer price (which is very fair) I`ll let you know. I could also (possibly) collect and bring at least as far as Chester if that will help?

O.K folks due to unforseen circumstances I will NOT be bidding any further on this car. I mention this in fairness to the seller and any potential buyers/bidders.
I am NOT the current high bidder on the car now anyhow and I have sent p.m to CitroenXm.
Good luck to whoever wins it, it`s a nice looking car and very well priced i.m.h.o
