I'm pretty sure I've met the owner of this car he was a cracking lad and it's a very nice motor.

If the price stays down I don't know whether to have a go for this one. Is anyone else thinking of it? Cos its pointless us outbidding each other.

What does the team think? Is it worth it? I don't want to buy a load of work. But wouldn't mind reliving my lost youth

Everythings fixable and Mk1 Valvers are getting rare as they all ended up as 205 donors I imagine, just look for the usual BX problem areas, the 16v engines will do very high miles if looked after but watch for blue smoke and rattles from the bottom end pointing to a hard life. They are not the quietest of engines by any means and noisy tappets are common (Kitchs and mine suffer with it)

Ooops Demag, just noticed your post. This one's near to me - and, I have to say, the 'finger of bidding' has not been entirely still.

(Greedy, me? Although I've got a Ph.2 waiting in the wings and a nice auto courtesy of Tim... my good wife is not to be outdone!)

I acutally really like that one. Can't put my finger on a reason, it just looks 'honest'.

I'd probably set my limit at £550-£600. With the miles and the fact it's a ph1, it's not worth tidy ph2 valver money. I don't doubt the ph1 as a car at all, in many ways it's better and probably has more character. They're lighter too, but the ph2's seem to command more money.
