This one is annoying me

Post by MULLEY »

This seller seems to think that this car is worth loads of money, its been on e-bay countless times....

I like the bit where he reckons it has cost him £800 worth of his time on this car???? Was he paying himself?? Idiot!!! (Apparently a mechanic)

Ebay Mileage: 91500

He says " I am owning for 1 year but done only ca.1-1.5 k miles"

Photo of Mileometer says: 80754 (So this is before he even bought the car?)

Something is well fishy here and at the very least those are old photos and no longer representative of how the car looks now!  :?

His grasp of the english language and of what cars are actually worth leaves alot to be desired, as does his feedback

Have mailed him a couple of questions, will let you know if responds. He's been trying to offload this for ages now, why the heck doesn't he realise he'll be lucky to get half this price for it?

OPh dear, seemed to have touched a nerve here: I asked him why he said the mileage was different to what it says in the picture and why if he's a mechanic he got a garage to do the work. Here's his reply:

Do not respond to the sender if this message requests that you complete the transaction outside of eBay. This type of offer is against eBay policy, may be fraudulent, and is not covered by buyer protection programs. Learn More.

mileage is ca. 91500 at the moment. on picture is 90750 was done 2 month ago. There is hydraulic suspension, so if you want to be killed you can lie yourself under the car. some work must be done in garage where have right tools and jack. I am no t DIY mechanic to do all work with 1 old screwdriver. Please save our time if you looking for tricky question conversation. I am honest with the car. have more cars and every is serviced properly.

'Please save our time if you're looking for trickey question'
That, to me, says he doesn't want to be challenged about blatant discrepancies in the listing. As if anyone needed another reason to steer well clear of this car!

Aye, it'll just sit outside his house annoying him and he'll rail bitterly at anyone who'll listen telling them eBay is rubbish these days. The really daft thing is it must becosting him a fortune in listing fees which he'd have been better of saving by dropping the price to a realistic amount in the first place. Ho hum, his money and his choice I suppose.

The bloke is a twat, & i dont even have to meet him to know that.

All his previous listings have all had some fantastic gems about this car. He's even going to keep this one if it doesnt sell, so i hope he likes BX ownership as he wont be selling that one....

Infact, even if it was free i wouldnt have, just to annoy him....

Good to know that twat has had some daft offers, i think he may have reduced his price down to £650? Perhaps the twatness level is dropping slowly

I wanted to see what kind of twat he was so I also asked a few scrupulously polite and reasonable questions.

We exchanged a few messages with his replies becoming increasingly rude and sarky and now he's gone all huffy and withdrawn it from sale. Only after telling me that the car is worth "at least £1000"

Any bets as to how long it will be before it's re-listed again?

I feel sorry for the car...
