Low mileage 4X4 on eBay

I guess this might be of interest to some who might not be put off with an MOT fail It's not without its problems but note it did have a new transfer box in 1999, and appears to have been well maintained.

I bet it failed on exhaust, corrosion and emissions... It'd be interesting to see the fail sheet.

The cost of an exhaust alone would be enough to render this car u/s I'm afraid. Has anyone asq'd him to see what it failed on?

Very hard to price Mr Sunclub and could only guess at about £700 as it is on the right day.

I wouldnt have thought even as high as £700, purely because of the transfer box & exhaust situation, that puts most people off full stop.

I dont think they have any particular value, only worth what someone is prepared to pay, i suspect virtually zero demand, now if it was a diesel  , thats surely got to be Docs next project with a 2.1 engine fitted to a 4x4 :D

Message from seller:

Hi,

I am going to update my listing with the failure sheet later on this evening, or tomorrow, as I?ve had 6 questions asking me the failures in that past few hours since I?ve listed it! I suppose I should?ve done it in the first place really, I didn?t quite realise there would be this kind of interest!

Could I please ask you to check the listing again over the next 24 hours or so? I will update it at my earliest convenience.

Thanks for your interest, and if there?s anything else I can help you with, please don?t hesitate to ask!

James.

Seems a very affable gent, didn't have the heart to tell him most of the seven who asked would have been from here!

Latest mod to add
2) To everyone at the BX club! I have been trying for days to join your club and tell you all about this on your forums - I have emailed your moderators about my difficulties joining, and not heard a dickie bird from them with help... Please could one of you point this out to them, as I haven't had a reply, and ultimately if they're not helping me, they're not helping you guys!

Ok, will post the failure sheet as soon as I get a few more mins...

Major 3 just from memory, yes it is the exhaust, ABS light remains on, and emissions (and blue smoke - valve stem oil seals?) So well done to all of you at the club who know these cars well enough to guess the failures!! All the rest are just easy bits and bobs... All will be revealed, I appreciate your patience!

James.

Lovely job Graham! I have mailed the seller back tonight to make him aware of our presence and told him we were interested in his car, though obviously I hadn't realised he was having difficulties joining up. Hopefully, if you're out there James, you can log in soon and introduce yourself.
