There's lots of advice you'll find on this Forum; just do a search. I suggest Photobucket, and keep images down to 599 pixels at their widest.

Wow: HF Mobile :D I thought at first you were speaking of a VHF whip but that's impressive. Post up a piccy of the installation within the car please. How much power are you running?

I still hold an amateur Licence (G4MEZ) although apart from an occasional chat to an old pal on 2M, I've been QRT for many years now.

Back on topic, you'll be best off mounting that aerial (antenna) on a custom-made bracket attached to the bumper mounts or adapt a towing bracket. I'd worry about that aerial on a tailgate even if it were made of metal :(

The ideal would be (if they were ever made for a BX) a bull bar on the front. They're ideal for mounting HF whips

I am assuming you will be using this whilst static, not mobile.

Why not get yourself down a friendly motor caravan dealers and try and "win" a base that they use for their flags? I had one years ago and used it coupled with a SilverRod - simply drive your front wheel over it and plug in - it still uses the car as a ground plane and works well.

Holy Cow!

In that case I would fit a tow bar and then mount a bracket to that.

What? for being into Amateur Radio and Citroens?

My paricular radio-related interest these days is in the vintage stuff with valves in it :D

I've got an ailing Yaesu FT101E with valves that needs fixing

I've figured the mount out simply angle iron bolted to the remaining bolt holes not sure where to get 1/4inch steel angle iron plate around 6inches

Go and see one of your local engineering workshops/fabricators and ask if you can have a rummage around in their scrap metal skip. They are very likely to have a suitable off-cut and may even give it to you :)
