Seems to be, the "odds and sods" of history turned out to be a large folder of receipts, including a top end rebuild 30k miles ago, and even came with half a tank of fuel!

Yeah, and I've got my eye on painting my gonads with raspberry jam and sticking them in a wasps nest - alot less painful than a V6 Xantia!

Nah. The one one Ebay is firmly in the 'too pricey' level. I don't see why the Xantia V6 gets such a bad press. Roger Bradford used to swear by them (as in to use himself rather than just sell) and they're not as complex as the Activas...

The very real, similarly cheap alternative is a Peugeot 406 Coupe V6. Ridiculous that such a pretty, fabulous-sounding car can be had for £500-800.

It's complex, alway's go wrong & cost a bloody fortune if you can't do any of the work yourself. The people who love them are either mechanics or have deep pockets, ask Ian Fearn, even he got rid of his eventually. Shame, as they are very cheap, but there might be a reason :(

Meh. I've survived a £375 Alfa Romeo 164 V6 and a cheap Citroen CX. Bring it on!

As a Citroen fan, it pains me to say I prefer the looks of the 406 (especially the later ones) over the Xantia. Although I'm not keen on the looks of the coupé - I think the headlamps are a little on the small side.

It was Lana's birthday last week, and I bought her a telescope. Tonight has been a rare clear sky, so we set it up and had a quick look at the moon.

She took a photo with her phone, and although it's not the greatest image quality, it looks pretty good considering it's only a phone picture!

Mat do some googling and find the position of Saturn in the night sky. You should be able to see the rings with a half decent 'scope. Used to spend many a happy night sky gazing when I were a nipper!

Next clear night we'll have a look - we managed to spot Jupiter by chance, and you could see the stripes!

More non BX news now, sorry...
This is (hopefully!) the last bit of welding the Disco needs - it had rust there when we bought it but there were other more urgent areas needing attention at the time.

Image

It extends underneath the C pillar too :(

Image

I already sorted the other side a while back, as that was more advanced but a fairly simple flatish patch repair and not too difficult to butt weld a section in. It's thicker steel (what's left of it anyway!) than on the BX which makes life a little easier.

Image

Image

This side however, needs part of the wheelarch replacing so I'm torn between buying a whole new wheelarch and making repair panels from the, or cutting one from the blue Disco...wallet says I should save £50 and cut one out!
