93 BX 19 TXD 145,000 miles Silver

Post by danny »

Hi Guys. I know it's my first post but I have been a spectator on this site since it started. I used to be a spectator on Andy's spares also!
Just thought I would give the opportunity for someone to buy my car for the grand sum of £100. I don't take cars to the scrap yard, I take them to the metal merchants and it is near on £150 a ton now but I would rather it go to someone who needs parts as it is up and running. I didn't take it for an MOT when it ran out last August as I have not been using it. I don't drive a car nowadays, I use my bike or the wifes car!!. However she is getting a new company car next week and I have had the hard word, she says she is not having it covered in bird shit like the old one from parking under the tree at the end of the drive!! I have owned the BX since 2002 and the first job done on it was the accelerator pedal, then the heater motor blower fixed with a toggle switch, speedo lightbulbs and rev counter, 2 new rear spheres, one accumalator sphere, flushed hydraulic fluid out, offside rear arm bushes, timing belt, water pump, discs and pads and various other bits and bobs over the yeras for the MOT's. the last MOT needed a bottom ball joint, 2 rubber gators, flexi steering coupling and handbrake cables. Now for the bad bits, it has developed a leak from the front offside since it has been standing (not sure what this is - I don't have the time or patience to look as I don't need the car anymore) and also the drivers window will not operate. This car has a really sweet engine, I am sure it does not turn a revolution before it fires into life, even at minus 6-7c and believe it or not I have never put any water into it since I put antifreeze in when I first got the car! The reserve light has not come on yet so it still has plenty of fuel in. A Blaupunkt stereo radio casette is also fitted and working. The car still rises up and down and you can sit on each corner and it still does it's job as it should do. I've even taken the battery out of the wifes dog car (the jeep in the background on photo) and it is now on the BX. Sad though I am I must get a response this weekend or it will go on Monday. If someone says they want it though I will hold onto it until it can be collected. I will also throw in a BX Workshop manual and a Citreon Deisel engines manual which cost £32 for the pair. All in all it's a great find for someone. Will forward pictures.

Pictures below are from a few months ago when it was minus 6c and the others were taken 4 weeks ago

I don't think I can do anything for this one. I've rung my mate and he has got too many cars at the moment :(

Where abouts are you, I'm in Wakefield.
They think it's all over, it is now!

I'm looking at how I can get this back to Preston. Struggling a little at the moment, but still looking into it.

Hi Ken
I am just off the A650, a mile or two away from Tong Garden centre and Drighlington/ Birkenshaw. Postcode is BD4 0QP, the 0 is a zero or else it won't come up on multimap.

I would appreciate it if you could get back to me as soon as possible though as my wifes car is coming on Tuesday and I need the space! I would prefer it to go to good use than end up at the end of a grab!!
Thanks

Danny

Danny, I'm interested in your car. Trouble is I can't wake the wife at the moment to take advice - it's gone 11.30pm.

Will contact you tomorrow if it's still available.

Don't ask her - she'll only say no... :D But wear a crash helmet when you return from picking it up!

Sounds like good advice to me. Second marriage, can't afford for this to go wrong!
