well go on, how did you fit it in there?

Have considered this before, i now just have one in the window instead, struck me as requiring a lot of damage in order to fit it.

Nice work dude, that looks really good.

Vanny, cant see how this mod would benefit you, unless you're going to remove the whale and fit a baby walker??

Whales are solid.

I was under the impression that the baby-walker spoiler is hollow, so actually a fairly easy mod?
this might be a signature

Yeah, the span is hollow.
Whereas the whale is a solid lump of glassfibre..

sorry not been on here much but been very busy getting a mates car ready for a sprint at goodwood tomorrow.

to hopefully answer all the above questions.
1, I too had a brake light fitted inside the window but every time it started to get hot ( i mean sunshine) it fell off and i was getting fed up with trying to find sticky stuff to restick it.
2, The baby walker spoiler is not hollow as i found out when i started to cut the hole out it is full of expanded polyeurothane foam.
3, I did put the wiring through the spoiler by making up a 600mm drill from a peice of 10mm diameter pipe and cutting teeth on one end to drill from the hole for the brake light to the right hand end ( spoiler removed) Checking the length against the spoiler so as not to drill too far and break through the outer skin.( wear a mask it is pretty nasty stuff)
I then drilled up the end just forward of where the stud comes out until i joined up with the hole from the middle.
Getting the wiring through to theouter end of the spoiler was a pain in the proverbial.
filing out the hole was the tricky bit as it has to be a very presice fit so that took a bit of time.
4, The wiring goes through a hole drilled in the front corner of the original kick tail which is on all BX tailgates just forward of where the stud hole is so all wiring is hidden when the spoiler is refitted.
5, I took the extra precaution of sealing that side with some silicone sealer when i refitted the spoiler.
the wiring is then run up the tailgate with the existing loom and through the rubber tube into the cavity above the head lining, it is then run down to the right hand rear light and connected to the appropriate wires.

If i can i will try and do some drawings to show the full fitting sequence and post them on here.
The size and shape of hole will depend on what the donor brake light is as you will have to strip out the LED parts and the lens from the donor.
You will also need some araldite or other epoxy glue to fit the gubbins into the spoiler.

Regards Kermit :) :)

PS Doc we were down your neck of the woods last friday at a place called Mech Motorsport in cheltenham having my mates car maped.

My bad, of course, they aint totally hollow, but not totally hard either.

Er, what I meant was, whilst the baby walkers are a structire filled with horrid smelling shit, whaletails are solid fibreglass...

Anyhow, you should have said you were down this way dude, I'd have dragged you for a pint!

Let us know if you're down this neck of the woods again matey..

219 BHP... hhmm..... not bad!

Hopefully I'll have something with 211bhp to play with soon, oh and 670 LB/FT torque!! MWah ha ha ha ha ha!!

Hi Doc

Sorry i didn't say i was coming down west but it was a very busy day
shredded the rear tyres in the first 20 minutes on the rolling road they were cut slick wet weather tyres way too soft for the job.
but good old quickfit budget road tyres saved the day.
my mates car had it's first run in anger last saturday at goodwood and came away with third in class out of a class of 14.
also came away as fastest morgan even beat 6 morgan plus 8's to the title.
not bad.
what are you getting that has all that torque then must be another bus me thinks how big is the engine.

Regards Kermit :) :)

Cool!

Tyre shredding FTW!

Er, I *might* be getting something very soon, it's not a certanty yet, but I'm working rather hard on getting it, as is my mate whose higher up the corporate ladder than me.

8.3 litres of turbo diesely goodness.
Except at the moment the engine is infact FUBAR.
And what the engine is attached to is also FUBAR.
And it's going to be rather alot of money for something thats been robbed for bits and is generally FUBAR.

Not looking good is it!

I'm still getting it if I get the chance though!
