BX 14 Fan

Post by Matt H »

Hi all,

The fan on my car has stopped working, and I need to know which two cables to short, and where they are, in order to test that the fan itself still works.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,
Matt

Can you see a 2 pin connector on your radiator? Probably about 1/3 of the way up. The ones I have seen have been blue, but may not always be... This is the thermal switch, so if you disconnect the wiring to this (assuming it is still connected!) and short out the 2 terminals on the wiring loom does the fan now start?
If so the thermal switch is the problem, if not then the problem lies elsewhere... Probably be worth checking the fiuse first, if you haven't already!
