Finally got a new tacho mechanism to replace my unit that wobbles at speed and requires a match jammed in the trip counter to function. New, boxed for €5 - I thought I'd never find a replacement. When I fit it, the BX will read 004424 kms - honest guv that's original!

If you wanted mileage accuracy, cant you just snap out the old mileage drum & pop into the new head? Thats what i did on my mk2, worked a treat, but its a different design compared to your piccy....
