>NICE LITTLE CLASSIC CAR 50 PLUS TO THE GALLON- SHOWROOM >CONDITION. FULL MOT FOR ONE YEAR. 750.00

Not a particularly expansive blurb...

That struck me as well. It looks like it was written by someone shifting a cheap runabout, not a collector's car - I'd have thought all Visas were in the hands of enthusiasts by now!

I am always deeply suspicious of phrases like 'showroom condition' or 'mint'.... we all have different interpretations of these concepts. In my mind, showroom condition is concours. If this is so, then fair enough... doesn't look or sound like it to me....

Visas are soooo rare now, that you're right, why the minimal blurb?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I remember seeing this Visa at Stratford last month?
Can anyone confirm this?

[Visa spotter's hat on]

That does look to be in good condition - look at the scuttle panel, and you will see that it is painted black only halfway across in an arc. This bit of the car rots voraciously, and often gets repaired, and usually painted all black. If it was a 2 cylinder (which it isn't since he says it's 1100 cc - actually 1124  - and it's got plastic rubbing strips on the doors) I would have to be seriously restraining myself!! I think unfortunately a B reg will have been saddled with the much less interesting stalked dash.

I NEED a BX TD.

We had a B reg one new in 1984, a Visa Club in a sort of cow muck brown colour, but it did have the interesting 'satellite' (think thats how it was described) controls for lights etc. Can't think why they stopped using it, much more user friendly than all those stalks scattered about the place!
Brilliant little car, the 652cc one would just about exceed the motorway speed limit on the flat or going downhill, but ran out of puff going up.
Citroen were a bit like Henry Ford then - the club model only came in brown!
Paul in Normandy - BX 1992 Millesme 1.9D, 1999 Peugeot 806 2.1 TD (the Bus) - gone bang on the M25, in a scrapyard somewhere in the SE of England, 1985 Visa Decouvrable, 1990 Land Rover 110TD (Great Uncle Bulgaria),1999 Isuzu Trooper, 1991 Hymer motorhome with Peugeot J5TD power, and a shedfull of mopeds!

Yep, got to agree with Phillip, again.

I had the 1124 cc with satellites and got rid of it for a BX. Did try a 2 cylinder job, but those hills in North Yorkshire, well it just didn't cut it.

Mine was a nice little mover-cut through traffic in York nicely on a busy Saturday afternoon.

I well remember those TV ads with a Visa going up some steps with a pseudo Frenchman behind the wheel. Seem to remember he was a Scot in reality.

my first Citroen, after driving my father's series of GS's, including a very early one, was a 17RD with ordinary istruments; a great lttle car; it makes me wonder how much fun a Visa GTi would be. After I met a tree one icy night I ran a BX19TRD (DTR?)for several years, then bought a 4x4 as a toy; both long gone but I will have another - SWMBO is not in favour though
previous- GS, Visa, 19DTR, 4x4, now ZX 1.9D and 1985 BMW M5
