Ive heard news this evening through a friend whos a bxer but not part of the club that the reason why said GT is that much money is because it has less than 100 miles on the clock having been stored since new and is "AS NEW". Any updates I will of course pass on, even so £5k is still too much

If it genuinely does only have "delivery mileage" on it, and has been dry stored since new, then I'd say it's worth all of £5k and possibly more.

I've known this happen with a couple of other car marques I'm involved in (an essentially brand new car turn up) and they've sold for well over £5k.

Look at it this way: Would you buy a brand new Ka for £5k or a brand new BX for £5k? Given that the latter was worth so much more when new, I'd say the BX will be the better car every time.

But five grand for what's essentially a new car isn't bad either Mulley. Also there's probably enough enthusiasts of the mark who would pay that.
As well as Davids's analagy look at the even money bog standard 2 door Escorts are fetching, it's just stupid.

Trust me mulley if a new and unregisestered valver or tizzy dee showed I know of ALOT of people who would find the money 8) , me included as its a unrepeatble offer, the only problem is that once it is used and has miles on it becomes just another BX, low miles and mint maybe but not new.

Yeah but no but... it isn't as though you're going to be able to drive it straight away are you?

A few years ago, a GSA turned up with super low mileage that had been in a garage showroom for yonks and was considered to be in "as new" condition. But even so it needed major recommissioning before it could return to the road.

So you spend 5K on this BX GT stored in "as new" condition, and immediately (unless its been done already - which I can't tell as the advert's gone) you have to [pay someone to] change all the fluids, all the belts, all the tyres, free off the brakes, change the discs... at least! If it were me, I wouldn't want even to start it in that condition, so it would have to be trailered. That's a major project, only for the most hardened (nutty, single) BX enthusiast...

I do think 5K is too high a price - after all, with 25k on it after a couple or more years it'll be worth £500. That's new car levels of depreciation and more. Mark's right - it isn't going to be a drive-away bargain. Unless the 5k is the fully reconditioned, prepared, new MOT taxed etc. price. Even then? £2,500 tops IMO.

As a foot note: I bought, as some may remember, an almost 'as new' 16TGS auto with 23k on it for less than £500. OK it sold recently for more with 33k on it! But I did eventually buy it because no-one else seemed interested for weeks. I would/could not have justified a higher price.
