H Reg TZD turbo estate needs a home
H Reg TZD turbo estate needs a home
My much loved white tzd17 turbo diesel estate has become surplus to requirements.
Only driven 200 miles in last 3 months, and space needed.
Been keeping it for my girlfriend, but she's got a Jap coupe and doesn't want to know (doesn't appreciate the special qualities of old Frenchies!)!
Astonishingly tidy interior (all there - parcel shelf, headrests, blinds, etc,) exterior not bad at all for age. A few marks , but no prangs. Rear suspension mounts welded for last MOT
Present MOT out on 10th Oct 2008.
Current tax till Feb 2009.
Going onto ramps on 10th to see what's what. (I know, should have done it weeks ago, been up to my eyes.......)
Front RH wheel bearing noisy.
Suspect Hydraulic pump getting lazy (might be just needing LHM filter clean)
Had PTS in Wokingham do a diesel tune up (at quite some expense) a while back. Pulls like a train, but smokes on turbo boost. Needs pump looked at (been quoted £100 local diesel man). [My advice is stick to local garages for works - 350 mile round trip to sort probs not a realistic proposition!!]
Starts first time, every time, even after standing.
Had recent Doseur valve (thanks to Chris for help there), suspension bushes, accumulator.
132,000 on clock (genuine), local Devon car, fair bit of history, previous MOT's etc.
I d love to keep her, but a surfeit of cars and not enough time or energy!
Particularly clean one (rare nowadays), pre ABS (hoorah - no bl**ding warning lamps!)
In Devon, off the A38 near Bovey Tracey.
Will advise asap whether going as she stands, with MOT fail list, or with New MOT!
I'm posting photos on Photobucket (if I can get it to work (!!!??) - copy and paste the following link into your browser for a picture show!!

Any questions welcome

Best of luck with the sale. I still think my TZD Turbo Estate is teh bestest car of evAh, and I normally get bored with them pretty quickly
I hope you can get a fresh MoT for it without too much difficulty - it's scrap value otherwise. With a year's MoT, mine sold for around £600 just two years ago, so you might get lucky!

It seems (guess what!?) that the link to the photos is unreliable.
So here goes again - if you're interested click on this, or more reliably cut and paste in to your browser!

Bx TZD estate need a kind home!
I've been a bit distracted with mum and father in law in Hospital!
Car still here - really want it sorted by Oct end, as don't want to continue Road Fund Licence into November!!
Scrap was fetching £120 last month - now £20 - so money not an issue - just want someone who can, at best, carry on with the old motor, or someone who can take it to make use of the bits (eg 5 x Continental Contacts, 2 x Michelins on spare wheels, good interior fittings, etc etc.)
Anyone who fancies taking it way- it drives fine, Taxed but needs Ticket. I'd want remaining tax paid for if still on car
Cheers to all!!
