Replacing diesel stop solenoid
Appears to be a Haynes 1 spanner job but is it straightforward swap or should I be watching out for anything untoward? Picked up a new one today and was rather surprised that it's not goldplated as the price led me to believe

Re: Replacing diesel stop solenoid
I thought it was probably a 'Lucas' as as there always failing at some stage in their life (Typical failure symptoms i.e.:- Solenoid/rubber valve face/spring/diesel leak between body and ceramic insulation).
That is why you can always get a good used one or almost new from a breaker's yard from any Lucas version diesel that's typically in Citroën's, Fords, Pugs etc. for a couple of quid as I've have on many occasions !
So how much did you get 'Skanked ' for a new one as you stated:-
