sure that wasnt due to low level carbon monoxide poisoning from the dodgy exhaust via the holey cheese floor
Might have to be :) - from what I remember there was nothing "gently wafting" about a diesel Sierra, it's engine sounded more like a bag of hammers being bounced around.

sadly you are both badly mistaken, set the valve clearances properly on the old 2.3 and they are quieter than any XUD! and the Sierra actually gives a pillow soft and quiet ride for a steel sprung car, I should know ive had 10 of them hehe early mk1s excused though lol....now no more thread jacking!

The engine was the only reasonable part of the car, and that was only because Ford had no part in it's making

My father also had a Sierra diesel for most of the 80s. Very good car - he told me it was a Peugeot diesel - is that right?

Hope your little BX fans are doing well Kitch!

yeah the old 2.3 is a Peugeot unit, most of the Sierras with that engine have been scrapped to re engine broken Pugs lol!

I doubt Kitch has had more than an hours sleep, the joy of new life!

Boys both growing quickly (and loudly - teething is not for winners) I've found a new place for them to sit and take it all in:

The BX has been out of service since June now. This was the last pic of it taken while in service:

And it now resides at the front of the house under a crap cover, hidden by something that needs to either be fixed, or repaired on a daily basis (apparently!)

BX will sit out for a little while now. It pains me to do it, as I love having it road worthy but with the TVR needing some work (and me itching to make it faster) I can't have my cake and eat it sadly. Unless I go back in time, study more, make a few decisions in a different way and get a better job, earn more money today and be able to run 4 cars in one go.
But I can't, so sadly I will have to settle for two.
