If you're going to poke about in a fusebox with metal tweezers, I hope you are going to disconnect the battery first? Metal gets very HOT very FAST with the Amperage a car battery can supply!

I dont think its got abs anymore. And the reason why i cant get the fuse in. Is becase its blocked off. Cos its not needed. Its f14 25 amp one what i need

an H reg TZD may not have ABS.

Why don't you open up the bonnet, on the psgr side just after the airbox there should be a metal block with a load of pipes exiting it. If that block isnt in the engine bay, then you don't have ABS.

Just a quick update on thngs
I got the beast back Yeasturday. After being at the garge for 2 weeks. Had to wait for a part for the rev ounter. ITs had all the electrical faults done. They wasnt connected up properlly. And one or 2 motors brount out.
Had new LHM fluid in it Accuminter spher Stuff like`That Cost a bit though. 350 with parts and labour. The power steering not sorted out. Might need a new hydrolic pump. So it will be another 300 pound. To fit that. Still needs a service and a new cambelt. Im doing it bit by bit. Dont know how long i can least. With the steering. It pulsates when driving it. Somtimes gets stiff as well. Bit dangerus. But it goes so it could be worst. The engine is a ok for now. And sos the body

Is it a hard job fitting a pump

Plus you know them copper stripes on the bk windscreen What controls the heating. My grandad sad. You used to be able to get stick on ones. For older cars. Where you just stick it on. Plug it in Can you still get them

If the steering is pulsing, have you checked that the belt on the pump is mega tight? Have a search on the site, there's plenty of advice on making sure that this is tight, then tighten it some more, then re-tighten & then tighten again If that doesn't work then try the following:

When you say it's had new lhm, what was the state of the old lhm? if it was brownish, then you'd probably be best trying some hydraflush to see if that cures the problem. Again, do a search, plenty of info about this & see the diy section on draining out all of the lhm in the car, there are 2 methods depending upon time & a bit of skill etc...

The b loke at the gaurge Took it to bullwinkle citroen specailist. Says hes changed the filters and lhm fluid. Im sure he would have done that. But not quite sure. His writing a bit small on the sheet. Says new hydrolic presser on it. Fluid filters reserver So i think hes cleaned it all out.

Ok, he may have emptied the fluid out, but there is still a residual amount in the whole system & did he do the correct & more lenghthy proceedure or the quicker but not so good method? Either way he wouldnt have used hdraflush, as this is designed to replace all of the lhm, run the car for a few thousand miles & then empty out the hydraflush & then re-fill with nice clean lhm.

Thanks Im not quite sure if he used flush on it. Mabye the quick way to save cost and time. It will be a long time before i do a thousand miles. Only use the car at the weekend a couple a nights a week. Dont need it to get to work and back. Ill see what happerns I should be all right for a couple of months

Just pees me off a bit. I got the car from a specalist. And theres all of theses things that are wrong with it. I would of expected it if if got it from a dogy bloke. But from a gaurge. I know i should have seen it and test drove it. But i took my chance. I dont feel safe in it at the moment. When i drove it back from kent it wasnt so bad. I dont think. But when i got it back home. Thats when i really started feeling the steering wasnt that good. At the start of driving it i thought it had abs. So when i came up to somthing quite fast. I just slamed the breaks on. Plus i tested it out. at 40 just slamed them on. There was a kncoking sound. Thought that was the abs. But when my grandad did it at 30 The wheels skidded. So there wasnt abs on it. Could my behaver with the breaks. Done somthing to the steering. Or mabye taking it out on a long run. Fround the problem out. All it was doing for a year or so just standing about. And moving a couple of yards in and out the gauarge. I do love the car. But feel unsave at the same time. I f only i was good at fixing things as well. That would help a lot. But im a bit dum. And not got the tools equitment space and the know how. Really pisses me off somtimes.

There are 2 ways at looking at ABS, they can be problematic with dodgy sensors, so as your's doesnt have them fitted, thats one thing less to go wrong . I wouldnt have thought slamming on the anchors would cause any problems, perhaps the subframe bolts may be slightly loose which caused a slight clonk sound when braking hard? Does it also do this when setting off from standstill quickly?

Lessons to be learnt when buying a 2nd hand car, either from a garage or private, you must always test drive the thing, & check absolutely every button, switch, does everything work or not??? & if you're worried about anything mechanical where you have limited knowledge, always take a mate who knows a bit. It's a bit of a shame that you've had these problems, however none have been a major issue as far as i can tell, just annoying & slightly irritating & painful to your wallet.

Buy some cheap or 2nd hand tools, thats how i started out, can save you hundreds in labour time even for simple jobs that a garage would charge hundreds to do. As an example, changing the oil & oil filter can cost anywhere from £75+ at a garage. Doing it yourself would cost you less than £20.

Best bet is to make a complete list of all the jobs that need doing on your car, regardless of how small they might be. Start with the simple one's that you can do, read the haynes manual & any online help thats on this site & others, to do the slightly more difficult jobs. Try & build up gradually & if you come across a problem, use the search function on here to see if its already been documented, chances are it will have been. Post up a question if you get stumped, as long as they make sense & explain exactly where you're struggling, then you should get some helpfeul & sensible advice from the techies/mechanics on this site.

You could say, why did i buy this complicated car, however, i don't believe there are many clubs like this one where there is so much help & advice. So even if you'd bought a really basic fiesta, chances are you'd be taking it to a garage anyway as there wouldnt be as much help as on here.

Best of luck with sorting out the problems, try the above list & see how you get on. I started out knowing pretty much nowt & i can do quite a few jobs & i'm certainly not mechanically minded, so theres hope I'm still learning....

The knocking only came on. When i was testing it for abs. At 40. It does not knock when setting off. Now i have a rev counter. I can juge. When to change gear. My clio was good at 2000 revs eg 3rd AT 30 AT 2000revs 4th AT 40 AT 2000revs AND 5th AT 50 AT 2000.
The bx is a bit up and down ok at 30 at 2000 revs. But at 40 in 4th gear its slighty under same at 50. But at 60 its near 2000 rev mark. Which is pretty good. But at lower speed in Speed limit zones. Im iether under 200orevs or over 2000revs I got told the at 2000 revs is the best touque. For the engine.

The steering in the car park gets a bit stiff and slow. I drove it today. Still the same pusating effect. But wasnt has bad.

Mabye i just need to know the car better.

Heres somthing for you all
I was reading about suspansion problems on the tecnicle side.
To day i was cheking the tyre pressers. I started the passenger side. Then i saw the. Frount end go down slighty. How could of it gone down. If i haddernt started the car. Or evern opened the car up. I just went down a bit by it self. Been stood there all night.

Why did it go down by it self?. Could they be a ghost in the car ?LOL

Always be very careful of BXs sinking. Never go under an un-supported car. To explain your observation, when you got out the car, it would have gone up slightly even with the engine off as your weight left the car. After a few seconds it will adjust back down to ride height even with engine off. Eventually, hours to days later, it will sink down to the stops. Sometimes it can stick, and then drop suddenly. You don't want to be underneath when that happens, without warning !!
