Im sure i didnt get in the car. I remenber checking the tyers. Then i saw it go down. It been stood all night. It seem to have gone down at the frount. Like a centermeter or 2. Quite spooky

They can do that, it's normally a sign that the hydraulic system is worn which could be a component or 2, it's not that important tbh, as long as the car rises when you switch the car on & it's at the right height & maintains the smooth/floaty ride until you turn the engine off, i'd save yourself worry/time & money, they all kinda do these things.

As per the previous advice, NEVER get underneath a bx which is unsupported, injury or death is never nice for being lazy. Invest in some axle stands & a car trolley jack, cheap, quick & safe & can save you money

The revs thing is really when the turbo starts to kick in, so using the limited power band effectively makes for swiftish economical progress, in other words change up through the gears earlier rather than later, but if you change up before 2000 revs, the car is almost behaving like a normally aspirated 1.7 diesel (in other words the turbo is not being used), that i guess is even better economy, but means more sedate progress.

Yep everything ok with th rising bit. And lowering it. I remenber one day. I was giving it a test out. Think i went from low to normal driving posion. Stoped pumping. Thought it had done. Then 5 min later It pumped up a bit.
It looks like a new pump on the steering. Reading another post on the steering being dogy. Sounds just like mine.
I need to get a jack. Didnt come with one. A jack and all of that. Should be located in the boot. And there was nothing there.

I wouldn't presume you need a new pump untl you've tightened up the pump belt as per my earlier description. If that doesn't sort it out then take out all the lhm & replace with hydraflush (this sorted my dodgy pulsing steering). If that doesnt work then it could be a blocked FDV, thats cheaper to replace than a pump. Have a search on the site for steering issues & what other club members have found to be the problem.

Erm... The spare wheel and jack are located under the boot floor.

i thought it was in the side bits. At the back. It might have been in the easte

Went for a drive today On theses bumpy country roads. It was superb it was. Evern thougfh the steerings a bit dogy.
Really enjoying the car i was.
Still not soure on the petrol gage. Its on the sencond to last line. Near the full mark. 3 qualters of a tank. Ive got the trip swich sorted now. It says ive done 43 miles on it. But hasnt moved yet.

See what happerns
