In advance, please excuse me if I've posted any of these before...
First 'DGK' GTi auto in all its glory. It really was lovely. Other commitments and the looming spectre of work meant it had to go. But with air conditioning, still represented a good buy for new owner. Not entirely sure where the car is now...
'ELF' on its merry way to Cavmadland...
Tim's GT not long after he got it.
I was at Tim's picking up this 19TGS auto. Not short of a few issues but one of the best-riding BXs evah... Gave it away for a good cause to Mick when I bought his 16v off him.
My first 16v. Cost me £350, sold it for about that shortly afterwards as my Phase 2 was imminent. This was faster than the Ph.2. But it had a tendency to run too hot.
Some BXs from my past.

That's interesting to know... I just bought this car on Ebay last week - not collected it yet as I am still overseas....

Thanks. It is reassuring. I wonder how long the present owner has had it, and what's happened to it in that time. He wrote in the listing that the car was on the road until the end of 2009. From the photos the interior looks very good, and the paint looks saveable apart from that rusty rear wing. Any info gratefully received.Philip Chidlow wrote:Check the ignition switch (as it was playing up) and the boot floor too. It was a 'free' car passed around, so be wary. But £100? Not bad!
I understand of course that I'll spend much more on bits than I paid for the car (I want to make it look like a GTI and fit graphite speedlines, decent period stereo etc) and *hopefully* take it and my XM to Wetherby in May. (The CX needs too much work to be ready in time).

The paint is ok, I did replace a few bits and gave it a good clean when I had it, unfortunately the passenger side is rather badly dented and a pair of replacement doors will be required unless you like the "lived in" look.
It does drive very well but from memory the carb needs fettling as it was a pain to start when warm, which to be honest is a common problem on most carb fed (solex ones anyway) old petrol BXs.

Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....
