Ok, the BX has been pretty much behaving itself recently but one small problem has manifest itself in the dashboard lights often not switching on. Sometimes they come on a few minutes after the car starts with a little relay "tick" but more and more often they just don't come on at all.
New relay needed?

I found a rheostat in there, cable tied to the steering column and set to max. Turning the dial revealed the solution to the problem; the rheostat was dodgy, the lights going off for every 1mm of turning it, and recently had been dislodged such that it was leaving an open circuit. Luckily I had a new rheostat from RXBX from when I ordered somethng or other related and the only electrical problem I have had with my BX is now sortedken newbold wrote:Take a look inside the shroud then, there should be 2 wires connected together, apparently doing nothing else.
