Cylinder Head for BX TXD - 1749cc

Post by silverfox »

Been nursing my beloved for a number of thousands of miles - time has come to change the head - small crack somewhere - no oil in water/no water in oil/no power loss/no missing/no smoke -- but pressurises and spits water if 'turbo'd'!

Am in North Wales - will travel but not too far as have no other vehicle to travel in! Ta in anticipation of a miracle!

Are you sure it's not just the beginnings of head gasket failure? they do fail very progressively, and can last for thousands of miles while "slightly" blown

and not trying to be picky, but it's a 1769cc engine.
this might be a signature

Thanks for that David - will investigate first but my 'helper' has just suggested that line of approach first. Geoff

Already have two spare motors, space is what I need, that and time, I think the work/life balance is a bit skewed currently, not that Im complaining, just knackered.
