I've never been failed on a rear window washer - I think even the non-working rear wiper on one got through.

I've had the same issues with steering judder and I tink it's a common PAS symptom. If I remember rightly the consensus of opinion was insufficient pressure from the HP pump - so check that the belt is REALLY tight for a start... then get your wallet out  and I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me can offer further diagnosis.

Good luck (I hate MOT time too)

Well, it passed! And with no advisories at all.

The guys at the garage said they were very impressed with it and couldn't find anything to fault.

That put a smile on my face.

Cheers for the advice everyone.

Cheers. Still smiling.

I think what's almost as good as it passing is the knowledge I seem to have
found a decent garage. It's been a fair while since a garage while doing me an MOT haven't added anything on as needing doing. ("your indicator bulbs are not the correct orange").

It needs a clean, but here it is complete with snow chains. Passers by in Central Manchester assumed they were some kind of new wheel clamp.

Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Thanks very much everyone.

The chains were actually pretty easy to put on (I even simulated real world conditions by getting my hands really cold and then wearing thick gloves!)

Of course, they are off now as there certainly isn't enough snow round here to warrant them yet.

Other than that, it's going really well.

Yeah, that looks great even with the bungee cords on the wheels! I just realised that it's Geoff's old wagon and him being a Citroen mechanic it was lovingly fettled so MOT would have been no worry I suppose. You got a good one there.

Cheers. Yeah, Geoff kept it well.

It's needed a couple of little things doing, and a few more to keep an eye on in the future, but all in, a really good car.

Now to figure out the weird noise. Can't describe it, I'll make a video of it and see if anyone has any ideas.

Nice photos too. I had a quick look at your Flickr - hope you don't mind - and I see that you're a photographer. This is quite apt for you then!

Cheers. Don't mind at all.

Ha ha, that's curious. But I agree, most photographers I know seem to abuse their cars.

I've not actually been involved in any jobs carrying large amounts of kit since I've had the BX, but imagine it will do the job well.
