The text says that the original reason for the project was the oil crisis, and the car was initially meant to run on terpentine, a by-product from the domestic forest industry. Later on, when the oil crisis went over and supply of oil was not at risk anymore, the focus shifted from terpentine to kerosene, which is more or less a similar fuel.
I don't know if any texts about this project exist in English.
BTW, names of the fuels in different languages can be quite confusing. If I understand correctly, what is called "bensiini" in Finnish, is "petrol" in (UK) English, and what is "petroli" in Finnish is "kerosene" in (US) English (but "paraffin" in UK English?)..
